ANIMAL CONTROL
Animal Control Officer

Animal Control is provided at the local level and administered by Animal Control Officers (ACO’s).
Stray animals are picked up and brought to the: Southern Ocean County Animal Facility, 360 Haywood Road, Manahawkin, New Jersey 08050 (609-978-0127).
If you need assistance with nuisance wildlife situations, contact the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, Division of Fish and Game for guidance.

TRASH & RECYCLING
***IF THERE IS A HOLIDAY DURING THE WEEK, PICKUP WILL BE ONE DAY LATE FOR THE REST OF THAT WEEK. THERE ISN’T ANY TRASH OR RECYCLE PICK UP ON FRIDAY***
Automated Trash & Recycling Containers
There are three sizes of automated trash containers available: 95 gallon = $55; 65 gallon = $50; 35 gallon = $45.
There is a maximum of three cans per household.
Additional Automated Trash & Recycling Containers can be purchased at the Township Clerk’s Office.

GRASS CLIPPINGS, HAY AND GARDEN DEBRIS
Should be bagged and placed into the automated trash containers with your normal trash for collection.
Used Clothing Drop-off Shed
Located at the Recycling Center (DPW Yard)
Items Accepted: clothing, shoes, sneakers, belts, purses, blankets, sheets, pillowcases, drapes and stuffed toys.
Your donations will not be cut up or shredded.
We do not accept rags, fabric scraps, toys or household goods.
Boat Shrink Wrap
Boat Shrink Wrap can be recycled at the Department of Public Works Yard

Electronics Recycling
The following items can be dropped off at the Department of Public Works Yard (Route 539). These items will not be picked-up with bulk pick-up: Televisions, Computers (Hard Drives & Laptops), Monitors, Scanners, Printers, Keyboards & Mice, Servers, Modems, Fax Machines, Main Frames, Stereos & Radio Equipment, Speakers and MP3 Players

BULK ITEM PICKUP
*** ALL COLLECTIONS MUST BE PLACED CURBSIDE BY 6:00 A.M. ON THE MONDAY MORNING OF THE COLLECTION WEEK. ONCE A STREET HAS BEEN COLLECTED, THE DEPARTMENT OF PUBLIC WORKS WILL NOT RETURN UNTIL THE NEXT SCHEDULED MONTH. ***
BULK TRASH
Please be sure to separate bulk trash (i.e. mattresses, box springs, furniture, plastic toys, etc.) from recyclable items left at the curb for collection (i.e. metal, leaves, brush).
The Township of Little Egg Harbor DOES NOT collect kitchen / bathroom cabinets, boats (cut up or otherwise), hot tubs, any form of fiberglass, rock, concrete, tile, soil, construction debris, tires, propane tanks or wood fencing.
LEAF COLLECTION
DO NOT BAG YOUR LEAVES ANYMORE, rake or blow your leaves curbside on the week your zone is due for pickup and the Department of Public Works will pick up the leaves with a vacuum truck.
Leaves are picked-up in accordance with your zone throughout the year. To check your zone, click here.
BRUSH
Branches must be no larger then 4 inches in diameter and 4 feet in length. No stumps or roots will be picked up.
Christmas Trees will be collected with the normal brush pick-up.
METAL
Please separate recyclable metals from other items intended for collection.

REQUEST OPEN PUBLIC RECORDS ACT (OPRA)
REQUEST FOR PUBLIC RECORDS
In order to obtain a public record, you must complete a Request for Public Records Form (OPRA).
You can obtain an OPRA Form by clicking the link below or at the Township Clerk’s Office. Photocopy costs, $0.05 per page for letter size, and $0.10 per page for legal size copies.
All OPRA requests must be submitted to the Township Clerk’s Office.

RESIDENTIAL PROPERTY MAINTENANCE COMPLAINT
COMPLAINT FORM
A Complaint Form can be filed at the Township Clerk’s office for property maintenance complaints and zoning issues.
This form is not used for criminal complaints.
